Great happenings at home

So while Kaley is on her mission some cool things are happening here at home. One of the first long awaited things is that her brother Ethan is now an Eagle Scout as of today Sunday November 23rd, 2008! I didn't quite capture the loopy expression on his face, suffice it to say he was enormously relieved the have finally passed the final step - the board of review. Ethan was pretty nervous going into his review board. He wasn't sure what they were going to ask him and was worried he had forgotten all the good stuff. Talk about sweating it out... He had quite the time getting everything together for this award and lost the paperwork three times. He also had to track down merit badges earned in four different troops. After all that he was sure he would flunk out, but he passed the board with flying colors! The Eagle Scout award will be officially awarded to him at his Eagle Court of Honor which will probably happen the first week of January when his older sister Kasia returns from Vienna, Austria.
For those of you not in the same loop, Kasia has been on a study- abroad trip with students from Brigham Young University. It was very hard for her to go once she knew Kaley would be leaving on her mission in October, but they both knew they have been headed to bigger and better things. Kasia returns one month from yesterday (who is counting? :0) on the 22nd of December barring any bad weather holdups or missed flights. It will be a 20 hour flight so you all can just imagine the jet lag. We are proud of Ethan, and if any of you out there would like to congratulate him too, send an email to damindgeek@gmail.com.
